Gentle hands-on care focused on movement, balance, and whole-body function.
Manual Osteopathy is a gentle, hands on manual therapy that supports your body’ s natural ability to heal. Rooted in science and anatomy, it focuses on restoring balance and alignment throughout the body addressing the whole body and not just the symptoms. Osteopathic practitioners use neurological assessments and orthopedic testing to identify areas of tension, dysfunction, or protective patterns. Manual Osteopathy helps relieve pain, improve mobility, and promote circulation. It’s a whole-person approach to care that helps you feel more at ease in your body. Every imbalance has an origin. The work of a manual osteopath is to locate the origin, release the restrictions, and help your body return to its natural state of health and vitality.
Manual Osteopathy was founded by Dr. Andrew Taylor Still in the late 1800’s. As a physician and surgeon he believed that the body has an innate ability to heal itself when structure and function are in harmony and dedicated his work to restoring that natural balance through hands-on-treatment.
Some of the techniques used in treatment could include but are not limited to:
- Soft Tissue Techniques
- Osteo-articular Joint Mobilization
- Cranial Sacral Therapy
